Organizing the First Lima Legal Hackers Meet Up

Platform seeks to improve legal practice and access to justice through technological innovation.

We recently participated in the first meet up of Legal Hackers Lima, a platform that seeks to promote innovation in legal practice and facilitate access to justice through the use of technology in Peru.

This initiative has resulted in the creation of the Peruvian chapter of Legal Hackers, a global movement with operations in more than 120 cities around the world that explores and develops creative solutions on the most important issues connecting technology and the law.

Our associate, Felipe Gamboa, co-organizer of the Lima chapter, noted that: “The Legal Hackers chapter in Lima seeks to become a community that generates synergies between lawyers and technology professionals so as to take advantage of the opportunities technology brings to the practice of law. “

Felipe explained that in other South American countries such as Colombia there are already laboratories of legal innovation, in which law, technology and design come together to solve the justice needs of citizens and companies. He also mentioned the importance of breeding in Peru a culture that encourages innovation in legal practice, and thus create efficiencies in the provision of services for the benefit of clients.

The first meet up of Legal Hackers Lima addressed topics such as digital transformation in legal management and innovation in labor counseling, through legal analytics and control dashboards’ design, among others.
