Miranda & Amado has appointed Mauricio Raffo, partner and leader of the dispute resolution area, as new Co-Managing Partner. The Firm’s corporate governance mandates that the Managing Partners be renewed every certain period of time. This year, the Partners Meeting has decided to elect Mauricio Raffo as the partner who will replace Alberto Delgado as Co-Managing Partner, effective this month.
Mauricio Raffo specializes in litigation and arbitration and has extensive experience in complex regulatory, infrastructure and construction disputes.
In recent years, Miranda & Amado has continued to bolster its position as a leading law firm in Peru and the region, by consolidating practice areas such as Fintech, Wealth Planning and Health and Life Sciences, while creating new ones, such as White Collar Crimine, as well as by promoting a number of innovation, gender equity and diversity initiatives.
Innovation
Miranda & Amado led the launch of the First Hackathon for Legal Managers in Peru partnering with Laboratoria, and in recent years has developed a number of digital products resulting from the joint effort of its different practice areas. These products include the Municipal Information System application known as “SIM M&A”, which enables clients to access updated municipal information on the real real properties; the “Laboral 24/7” Podcast (the first of its kind in the region, available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts); Miranda & Amado’s WhatsApp channel; EVVA (a platform developed to enhance the management of immigration procedures, using real-time information); Amber (a digital platform that facilitates access to the decisions issued by the Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency (OEFA), thematic searches and comparisons for environmental enforcement work), and MANDO (an analytical intelligence platform for litigation practice).
Gender Equity and Diversity
Over the past five years, Miranda & Amado has been recognized with AmCham Peru’s ABE Award for work environment development and as one of the best legal practice centers by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). The Firm was also listed in the AEQUALES Par Ranking, which measures gender equity and diversity, and implemented the Diversity and Inclusion Committee to promote equity. Not surprisingly, at present, at Miranda & Amado women account for 47% of the workforce, rising to 54% in the case of new lawyer hires. In addition, women professionals account for 21% of the Firm’s female partners, thus advancing their share of the Firm’s management positions.
