Miranda & Amado partner presents book on arbitration to be published by Cambridge University Press

Mindful of the need to generate knowledge on the role of arbitration in international investment initiatives, José Daniel Amado, partner at Miranda & Amado, Jackson Shaw Kern, from Addis Law Group LLP, and Martin Doe Rodriguez, Senior Legal Counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration, co-wrote “Arbitrating the Conduct of International Investors,” which will be officially launched on February 16 at the Peace Palace in The Hague.

This publication serves as a comprehensive guide for those who wish to reform international investment law from within, seeking a return to the mutuality of access that is in arbitration’s essence.  In that vein, the book proposes a variety of matters with the aim of both enhancing investment flows and providing greater access to justice by re-establishing the principle of bilaterality, which is the essence of arbitration.

“This is the perfect opportunity to share our knowledge and experience in arbitration.  Our innovative views may lead to reforms in this practice at a global scale, which, in turn, would promote investments in politically-complex environments,” stressed José Daniel Amado, partner at the Firm.

The book has received positive reviews from some of the leading experts in international arbitration.  It will be published by Cambridge University Press, and will be available from January 2018.
