His professional practice focuses on dispute resolution, ranging from negotiations to arbitral litigation, and on civil, constitutional and administrative proceedings. He has been a partner at Miranda & Amado since 2018. Before joining the firm, he was a Partner at Priori & Carrillo Abogados from 2007 to 2017, and a member of Estudio Benites, de las Casas, Forno y Ugaz from 1994 to 2007, first as an associate and then as partner. From 2016 to 2017, he served as Chairman of the Working Group for the reform of the Peruvian Code of Civil Procedure, as a member of the committees responsible for drafting and reviewing the Act of Administrative Procedure, the Act of Labor Procedure, the General Act on Cassation and the Code of Civil Procedure. He is an arbitrator of the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the Arbitration Center of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru – AMCHAM. He is a member of the Ibero-American Institute of Procedural Law and the International Association of Procedural Law, as well as Vice President of Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Procesal para la región Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador y Perú [Ibero-American Institute of Procedural Law for the Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru Region]. Giovanni is a lawyer from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and holds a Master’s Degree from Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”. He serves as full professor at the Law Department of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, where he held the office of Director of the Master of Procedural Law Program and Director of the Legal Training Center, in addition to being a member of the Board of the Faculty of Law. He is a guest lecturer in the Master of Procedural Law Program at the Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil and in the Master of Public Law Program at the Universidad de Piura. Likewise, he has held tenure as professor of graduate programs at several public universities and the Judicial Academy. Giovanni has been a speaker at various national and international conferences on procedural law and arbitration and has authored several articles published in specialized journals and five books on procedural law. He is a native Spanish speaker and he also speaks English and Italian.
